Getting started with hands-on training
New to the trades or adding a service to a shop you already run? Start here.
What is Anocote Corp?
Anocote Corp is a hands-on training school in San Diego that teaches vinyl wraps, window tint, PPF and ceramic coating inside a working shop. You learn on real cars in small groups, not in a classroom. Anocote Corp is backed by Anocote Wraps, the production shop the training runs alongside.
Who is the training for?
Four kinds of people book with us: detailers, tinters and PPF shops adding a service; shops sending a crew; career changers starting from scratch; and serious enthusiasts who want to do the work properly. Pick the course that matches where you are starting.
Do I need any experience before I sign up?
No. Beginners start on prep and work up to a finished panel or car they did themselves. If you already detail, tint or paint, the training focuses on what is different about the film or coating so you are not paying to relearn what you know.
Which trade should I learn first?
Learn the one your customers are already asking for. Detailers often start with ceramic coating or PPF because it fits the work they already do. Tinters usually add wraps or PPF next. If you are starting from scratch, vinyl wraps and window tint are the most common first courses. Plenty of students take more than one.
How is this different from other wrap and coating schools?
Three things. You train inside a working shop that wraps, tints, protects and coats cars for paying customers, not a rented classroom. We list course lengths and tuition up front instead of hiding them behind a form. And we teach wraps, tint, PPF and ceramic coating, so a shop can add several services from one place.
Can I come and watch a class before I book?
Yes. Come and watch a session running before you commit to anything. Visits are on weekends, by appointment, with no sales pitch. Book a visit.

Vehicle wrap, tint and PPF training questions
Film work taught panel by panel in the same bay that does color changes and PPF for customers.
Which film courses do you offer?
Every course runs 2 days, Saturday and Sunday: Window Tint Fundamentals, Color Change Wrap Fundamentals, Advanced Tint, Advanced Wrap and PPF Essentials. Private 1-on-1 and team training runs 2 days too. Full details are on the courses page.
Do I work on real cars?
Yes. Training runs in the wrap bay that turns out color changes, satin finishes and PPF installs for paying customers. You see how a real job is staged, how long each panel actually takes and what a finished car has to look like before it goes home.
How many panels does it take before corners and edges look right?
It is different for everyone, but most people need repeated attempts on bumpers and mirrors before their corners and relief cuts look clean. That is why the course works panel by panel in order of difficulty, with a trainer beside you, instead of rushing through a whole car.
What wrap skills will I leave with?
Film selection, prep and hardware removal, glassing and squeegee technique, heat and tension, relief cuts, knifeless tape, post-heating so edges stay down, and quoting wrap jobs so the work is worth taking.
Do you teach window tint and paint protection film too?
Yes. Window Tint Fundamentals covers film types, California tint law, glass prep, hand-cut versus plotter-cut and back glass shrinking. PPF Essentials covers slip and tack solutions, plotter pre-cut kits, edge wrapping and full front installs. Compare the film courses.
I already tint or detail. Which course should I take?
Color Change Wrap Fundamentals if you want to add wraps, PPF Essentials if your customers are asking about paint protection. The course skips past the basics you already know and spends the time on what is different about the new film.
Pricing, payment and booking
What it costs, what is included and how to hold a seat.
How much does wrap, tint and PPF training cost?
Color Change Wrap Fundamentals is $1,895. Advanced Wrap is $1,595. PPF Essentials is $1,695. Window Tint Fundamentals is $1,395 and Advanced Tint is $1,295. Private 1-on-1 and team training starts from $1,100 a day.
What is included in the tuition?
Every course includes a tool kit you keep, all materials, lunch, a certificate of completion and 90 days of support after class. You do not need to buy film, coatings or tools before you arrive.
How do I book a seat?
Get in touch and tell us which course you are looking at and where you are starting from. We confirm the next dates, check the course is a fit and then hold your seat.
Do you offer payment plans or financing?
Ask us when you book. We will go through the payment options available for the course you choose. Contact us with any questions about paying for training.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Tell us as early as you can. We will go through the reschedule and refund terms when you book, so you know them before you pay anything.
Why do you publish prices when other schools do not?
Because you should know what training costs before you talk to anyone. Many wrap and coating schools ask for your details first and quote later. We would rather you see the numbers up front and decide for yourself.

Certificates and support after class
What you walk away with, and the help you still get once you are back in your own bay.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. Every student who finishes a course receives a Certificate of Completion from Anocote Corp. It shows you completed hands-on training in a working shop. What really proves your skill to customers is the quality of the work you produce afterward.
Is this a 3M, Avery or XPEL certification?
No. Anocote Corp issues its own Certificate of Completion. It is not a film manufacturer certification. Manufacturer programs are separate, and we can talk you through what they involve and whether you need one for the work you want to do.
What support do I get after the course?
Every course includes 90 days of support after class. When you hit a problem on a real job, you can reach out to the people who taught you and get an answer from someone who does the work.
Will the training help me start my own wrap, tint or PPF business?
The training covers the business side of the bay too: quoting jobs honestly, how long jobs really take, and what tools to buy first and what can wait a year. We do not promise income. We teach you to do the work properly and price it so it is worth taking.
Can I come back for more training later?
Yes. Many students start with a fundamentals course and come back for an advanced course or private days once they have been working for a while. See the advanced courses.
Crew and shop training
Train your team on the jobs your shop actually takes in.
Can you train my whole crew?
Yes. We book the floor for your team and build the training around the work your shop takes in, whether that is fleet graphics, color changes, tint, PPF or ceramic coating.
How is crew and private training priced?
Private 1-on-1 and team training runs 2 days, from $1,100 a day. Tell us how many people and what you want them to learn, and we will put together the days and the price.
Who usually books crew training?
Sign shops, body shops, detailers, tint shops, dealer reconditioning departments and fleet managers.
Can the training be built around a specific job or vehicle?
Yes. If your crew keeps struggling with a certain part, film or finish, tell us and we will build the training around it. Training on the work you actually do is the fastest way to see a return.

Safety and what to bring
A working shop has heat guns, sharp blades and cleaning chemicals. Here is how we keep it safe.
What safety gear is provided?
You use the same protective gear the shop crew uses, including safety glasses and gloves. You are shown how to handle heat guns, blades and chemicals safely before you start work on a car.
What should I wear to training?
Wear work clothes you do not mind getting dirty, closed-toe work shoes or boots, and long pants. Tie back long hair. Skip loose jewelry and anything that could catch on a part or a rack.
What should I bring on the first day?
Just yourself and a notebook or your phone for photos of your own work. Materials are included, and on wrap, tint and PPF courses you keep the tool kit at the end.
Location, parking and out-of-town students
The shop is in Sorrento Valley, San Diego. Students drive in from across Southern California and beyond.
Where is the training held?
In the working shop at 8745 Production Ave #A, San Diego, CA 92121, in Sorrento Valley. All sessions run in the working wrap, tint and detailing bays, not in an off-site classroom.
Where do I park?

When do classes run?
Courses run on weekends, Saturday and Sunday. Shop visits are by appointment. Contact us for the next course dates.
I live outside San Diego. Can I still take the training?
Yes. Students travel in from Orange County, Los Angeles, the Inland Empire and Arizona for multi-day courses. Sorrento Valley is just off the I-5 and I-805, and there are hotels a short drive away in Sorrento Valley, UTC and Mira Mesa.
Is lunch provided?
Lunch is included on every course, both days, so you can stay on the floor and keep working.

Still have a question?
Ask the person who teaches it. Tell us where you are starting from and we will tell you honestly whether the training is a fit before anyone talks about dates.
