Vinyl Wraps

Vehicle wrap training in San Diego

Learn to wrap, tint and protect paint in a working wrap bay, on real cars, next to installers who do it every day.

You spend the day with film in your hands, not watching someone else's. Prep, squeegee, heat, cut and post-heat on doors, bumpers and mirrors until the technique sticks, then learn how to price the work so it pays.

What you learn in the wrap bay

Eight skills, taught panel by panel. Each one builds on the last, and you do every one yourself.

01

Know your film

Vinyl types and brands, what each one is good for, and how to pick the right film for the job in front of you.

02

Prep and disassemble

Clean, decontaminate and remove hardware the right way, so the film goes down on bare paint and comes back together clean.

03

Squeegee and heat

Glassing, tension, squeegee angle and heat. The core hand skills every panel depends on.

04

Relief cuts

Where to cut, how deep, and how to keep a seam invisible on curves, recesses and compound shapes.

05

Knifeless tape

Lay design lines and trim cleanly with no blade on the paint. The habit that keeps customers' cars scratch-free.

06

Doors, fenders, bumpers, mirrors

Work through the panels in order of difficulty, finishing with the bumpers and mirrors that make or break a wrap.

07

Post-heat

Set the memory out of the film so edges and recesses stay down instead of lifting a week later.

08

Quote the job

Material, labor and disassembly time. Price wrap work so it is worth taking, and turn away what is not.

Learn on real cars

Training runs in the same bay that turns out color changes, satin finishes and PPF installs for paying customers. You see how a real job is staged, how long each panel actually takes, and what a finished car has to look like before it goes home.
