Paint Protection Film
PPF training in San Diego
Learn to install paint protection film over one weekend, on real cars, in a shop that installs PPF for paying customers.
Slip and tack, pre-cut kits, wrapped edges and the high-impact panels customers pay for: hoods, bumpers and headlights. You finish on a full front install and learn how to quote it.

What you learn in the PPF bay
Eight skills, panel by panel, from film basics to a finished full front.
01
Know your film
PPF film types and finishes, what each one is good for, and how to match film to the car and the customer.
02
Prep the paint
Wash, decontaminate and inspect the paint so the film goes down on a clean surface.
03
Slip and tack
Mix and use slip and tack solutions, and control where the film can move and where it has to grab.
04
Pre-cut kits
Work from plotter pre-cut kits: line them up, stretch them into place and keep the gaps even.
05
Edge wrapping
Wrap edges so the film disappears around panel edges and does not lift or collect dirt.
06
Hoods and bumpers
Large panels and compound curves, where tension and placement decide how the install looks.
07
Headlights and full front
Headlights, mirrors and a complete full-front install in the order a working shop uses.
08
Aftercare and quoting
What to tell customers after the install, and how to price PPF work so it is worth taking.

Install on real cars
PPF classes run in the same studio that protects customers' cars. You see how a full front is staged, how long each panel takes, and what the finished install has to look like before the car goes home.

Questions people ask first
Anything not covered here, the phone is answered by someone who teaches.
Do I need PPF experience?
No. PPF Essentials starts with film types and slip and tack solutions and works up to a full front install.
How long is the course and when does it run?
Every course runs 2 days, Saturday and Sunday, in the working shop on Production Ave in Sorrento Valley.
What does PPF training cost?
PPF Essentials is $1,695. Private 1-on-1 and team training starts from $1,100 a day.
I already wrap or tint. Is PPF a good next step?
Yes. Many students add PPF to an existing wrap, tint or detailing business. The course spends its time on what is different about PPF.
What is included?
A tool kit you keep, all materials, lunch, a certificate of completion and 90 days of support after class.
Can I watch a session first?
Yes. Come and see a class running before you commit to anything. Weekends, by appointment, no pitch.
